Kelly Hill is an aspiring graphic designer and artist from Arizona, passionate about creativity and continuous growth. A multidisciplinary creative, who thrives on challenging herself, learning new skills, and exploring fresh opportunities to expand her artistic abilities. Kelly approaches each project with ambition and a love for experimentation, seeing every challenge as a chance to grow as both an artist and a designer.

Education

During her time at Deer Valley High School, Kelly explored a wide range of subjects, including medicine, forensics, dance, and literature. Her curiosity eventually led her to journalism and art, where she discovered a passion for creativity and storytelling. These early experiences inspired her to combine analytical thinking with artistic expression, paving the way for her future in design.

After high school, Kelly took a two-year educational hiatus before enrolling at Phoenix College to study Fine Arts. During her first year, she joined a creative writing project and became part of the editorial staff for Phoenix College’s RISE Zine. This experience taught her valuable copy-editing and marketing skills, as she helped promote the zine to the local midtown community. The project sparked a dream of one day owning an art magazine that showcases local talent and highlights creative events in the area, connecting residents to the vibrant art scene around them.

Upon graduating from Phoenix College in 2023, Kelly shifted her focus toward graphic design and transferred to Arizona State University, where she is currently pursuing her degree. Her studies have allowed her to dive into typography, vector editing, storyboarding, motion graphics, and web design. Many of these projects are featured throughout her portfolio galleries, reflecting her growth as both an artist and designer.

Creative Journey

Kelly Hill’s creative journey began with childhood drawings, many of which she preserved in journals and sketchbooks. Over time, journaling became her way of capturing ideas, a practice she continues today as part of her creative process.

Her work is inspired by dreamlike experiences and emotions, often expressed through surreal and abstract forms. Whether through fine art or graphic design, Kelly blends conceptual storytelling with bold visual expression to translate the lessons and feelings from her dreams into compelling imagery.

After completing her studies at Phoenix College, Kelly began taking a graphic design approach to her work — combining her skillset with her passion for creativity. Her designs are influenced by professionalism and serve as an extension of her strengths in customer service, leadership, event planning, and organization, resulting in purposeful visuals that engage and connect with others.
